Kids say the darnest things!!!

Kids say the darnest things...
Salam everyone...
I could not recall any 'kodak' moment when my boys were smaller that they asked me 'adult' questions. But my 8 year old daughter asked me questions which I could say bewildering and shocking a number of times. Once after watching the tele, she asked what does a person mean when he said: 'I'm not good in sex' that led to another question what is sex? I dared not answer her because I was afraid she might get all confused. So for her first question, I told her thats only for adults to know and she has to wait when she's older to know. For the second question I told her sex means whether you are a girl or a boy. I know it is not accurate due to the situation she saw on tv but the kid just gotta have some answers or else she won't ask you anymore questions.

The other question was 'What is gay?' and she got this from the tele as well. My husband and I were stunned and looked at each other. I know I could give her an asnwer of which again would not be appropriate to the situation of when and where it occured but it would be misleading. So I told her 'gay' means being happy or contented but the 'gay' she encountered meant something else which I would be happy to explain when she' older.

Want to know how she reacted? She grumbled: "Why must everything have to wait till I am older". Who could blame her. She's living in an adult world after all where the things, programmes and advertisements shown or aired on the tele are mostly adult oriented.

2. Have confidence that if you have done a little thing well, you can do bigger things weel too. (Storey)

3.All glory comes from daring to begin. (Eugene F. Ware)

4. We are what we repeatedly do; excellence then is not an act, but a habit.(Aristotle)

These are maybe just words but if we take action on them (think, ponder, reflect and do) we may get something out of this dreadful challenging life.
